Lunch box tips

The basic rule, is always having 2 portions of vegetables in your lunch, some protein, some carbs and no (or very little) added sugar. For example a big salad with roast chicken in it (from last night’s dinner), a rice or pasta salad with roast chicken and vegetables plus a portion of veggies on the side or a sandwich or wrap with chicken and veggies in it plus some veggies on the side.

This morning’s lunchboxes at our house included:

Wraps with herbed cream cheese, smoked salmon, spinach, cucumber and shredded carrots and a portion of blueberries and carrots on the side.

Don’t forget to send your kids to school with their bottle of water to sip on throughout the day. Hopefully it comes back empty!
